The Basics
These terms apply to every quotation, supply and installation carried out by easifence. They sit alongside — and don't affect — your statutory rights, including those under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Boundaries, gate positioning, underground services and access — the conditions that apply to your quotation and installation.
You have 14 days from placing an order to cancel and get a full deposit refund, provided work hasn't begun.
A staged 60/30/10 payment schedule, and what happens if you ever need to raise a concern with us.
01 — Before Installation
A few practical points worth knowing before your fitting date arrives.
We ask that you liaise with the owners of any adjacent property so that we may be given access to both sides of the fence line for installation. We'll always aim to leave the site as we found it, but fencing work is intrusive by nature — at times, damage to shrubs, plants and borders is unavoidable, although we do everything we can to minimise our impact.
Unless you tell us otherwise, posts will be installed on your property as indicated by you, or from the position of any fence being replaced. If there's any doubt over where the boundary lies, you'll need to peg out the line of the fence before we start. We can't get involved in boundary disputes or offer advice on boundary matters — if a dispute materially delays an installation already in progress, we reserve the right to charge for the lost time at our standard rate.
Unless instructed otherwise, gates are hung on the back of the posts and will swing into your property.
If you're aware of any underground service on or near the fence line — telephone or power cables, water, gas, drainage or sewage — please notify us before work begins.
In rare cases, work that couldn't have been foreseen before installation — an underground stream, storm drains, buried foundations and so on — may require additional materials or labour to work around. Where this happens, we'll discuss the situation with you and agree any extra charges before continuing. If you won't be present during the installation, we'll need a contact number so we can reach you first. Additional time or materials needed because of inaccurate estimating on our part are never the customer's responsibility and don't get passed on, and any agreed extra work is completed as quickly and cost-efficiently as possible.
Unless stated otherwise on your quotation, we assume we'll have access to basic facilities on site, including an electricity supply, water and a toilet.
Planning permission is strictly a matter for you as the customer. While we'll never knowingly erect a fence that contravenes planning law, we can't be held responsible for any non-compliance. Under the relevant planning legislation, a fence over 2m high — or over 1m high where it's adjacent to a public road used by vehicles — generally needs planning permission. Councils can, and do, interpret this differently, so if you're in any doubt, we'd advise checking with your Local Council before accepting our quote.
02 — Your Rights
In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the day after you place an order to notify us of your intention to cancel. During this period you're entitled to a full refund of any deposit paid, provided work hasn't begun and no bespoke items have been made. The refund is issued via the same method the deposit was paid, and completed within 5 working days of us receiving your cancellation notice.
Installation won't commence until this 14-day cooling-off period has ended. If you ask us to start work before the end of the period, that's fine — but you'll be liable to pay for any work completed and items installed before cancellation.
Cancelling an order after the cooling-off period has ended may result in a cancellation fee, and bespoke items made specifically for your order can't be refunded.
03 — Payment Terms
Payment is split across three stages, so you're never covering more of the job than has actually been done.
60%
Deposit To Confirm Order
30%
To Confirm Install Date
10%
Balance On Completion
3.1 — Deposits
For all installations, we ask for a 60% deposit to confirm your order, a further 30% to confirm your installation date, and the final 10% on completion of the job.
3.2 — Balance
The balance is due immediately on completion of the work, unless we've agreed otherwise with you in writing beforehand. If you won't be present when the job finishes, we'll need valid card details and your prior authorisation to charge the amount due, or a cheque can be left with an authorised representative.
Payment by cheque, credit or debit card if you're present
Hand payment to our Lead Fitter and get a receipt
Cheques made payable to easifence Limited
Cash accepted only by prior arrangement
Your fencing remains the property of easifence Limited until the balance owing is paid in full.
3.3 — If Something's Wrong
In the unlikely event you're unhappy with your installation, here's exactly what happens next.
Report any concerns with the installation to the Lead Fitter immediately, while they're still on site.
They'll attempt to rectify the situation to your satisfaction before leaving your premises.
If it can't be resolved on site, call us to outline your complaint, then confirm it in writing within 72 hours.
We'll reply within 3 working days and aim to resolve the situation amicably within 10 days.
If we still can't reach a resolution together, we're happy to use the services of an independent arbitration body.
